Rivers State Government reappoint Chris Green as Commissioner for Sports

Rivers State government has re-appointed Barrister Chris Green as the state’s Sports Commissioner.
Green had served as Sports Commissioner under the last administration of Nyesom Wike and will continue as the commissioner in the new dispensation after his numerous achievements in office under the erstwhile administration.
The appointment is to foster continuity in sports administration in the state and Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Rivers United has swiftly congratulated Green for his reappointment as the Sports Commissioner.
In a statement by the General Manager of Rivers United, Sir Dr Okey Kpalukwu, he described his reappointment as well deserved and a proof of the incumbent administration’s resolve to balance consolidation and continuity in the State,” Kpalukwu stated in a release captured by the club media Department on Friday.
“On behalf of the management, technical crew, players, backroom staff, and supporters of Rivers United FC, we congratulate a gentleman of intrepidity and great intelligence, an astute sports administrator and a development expert, Sir Barrister Chris Green GMS DSSRS, on the occasion of his appointment as Commissioner for Sports in Rivers State.
“With your capacity and achievements gathered over the years, we have no doubt that you will bring your wealth of experience garnered to serve Rivers State.
“As we celebrate this great feat which has further showcased the unprecedented successes recorded in your illustrious career, we join your family, friends and well-wishers to thank Almighty God.
“Our earnest prayer is that the good Lord continue to uphold and lift you higher and grant you more wisdom in your resolve to bequeath milestones in Rivers State and Nigeria in general.”
The reappointment according to the club is well deserved and proof of the incumbent administration’s resolve to balance consolidation and continuity in the State.
