Rivers United, Kwara United, Plateau United to know CAF club opponents on Tuesday

Nigerian clubs in the continent will know their opponents in the 2022/2023 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup additional second preliminary round on Tuesday, October 18, 2022.
The present round will be concluded next weekend with Kwara United as Nigeria’s sole representative in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Kwara United defeated holders, RS Berkane 3-1 in the first leg in Lagos and take a two-goal lead to Morocco for the return leg.
One or both Rivers United and Plateau United might drop from the CAF Champions League to the CAF Confederation Cup depending on the result of both teams’ return leg.
Rivers United and Plateau United hold a 2-1 first-leg advantage over Wydad Casablanca of Morocco and Esperance Tunis of Tunisia respectively.
A win for Kwara United over RS Berkane coupled with defeats for Rivers United and Plateau United in the CAF Champions League might see three Nigerian teams in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The draw for the additional second preliminary round of the 2022/2023 CAF TotalEnergies Confederation Cup will kick off at 11:00 GMT (13:00 local time) in Cairo, Egypt.
The draw will see the 16 teams that qualified from the second preliminary round of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup play the 16 teams that lost the second preliminary round of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.
The additional second preliminary round is scheduled for 2 November (first leg) and 9 November (second leg).
