Rivers United’s trio make CAF Confederation Cup’s Team of the Week

Three players of Rivers United have been named in the CAF Confederation Cup team of Matchday two of the group state as rewards for their scintillating display in the triumph over ASEC Mimosa on Sunday.
Defenders Ndasi Kadiang and Ebube Duru with two goals provider, Nyima Nwagua were named in the best XI team by CAF.
Rivers United took apart ASEC Mimosa by three goals on Sunday to register their first victory of the group stage.
Nwagua assisted the first two goals for Rivers United which Malachi Oharume and Ukeme Williams converted perfectly.
The CAF best Eleven of Matchday Two also had Tanzania’s Young Africans and FAR Rabat of Morocco.
The trio of Mustapha Sahd, Hamzag Igamane and Mohammed Hirmat made the team from the FAR Rabat after their dominant display in 5-1 hammering of Kara FC from Togo.
Yanga SC as Young Africans are called also had striker Kennedy Musonda, midfielder Mudathir Yahya and full back Djuma Shabani in the selected team.
There were also places for Marumo Giants’ midfielder, Lesiba Nku and US Monastir’s goalkeeper, Bechir Ben Said.
The team is led by FAR Rabat’s manager, Fernando Da Cruz whose team recorded the biggest of the Matchday two.
Actions continue this weekend for the Matchday three of the second tier African club competition.
