Super Falcons player, Rofiat Imuran played his first game for French D1 Arkema side, Stade de Reims on Saturday as her new team earned a 3-0 win against Dijon.
The former Nigeria U-20 player had completed a move to the French side from Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side, Rivers Angels alongside Oluwatosin Demehin and had to wait a little more to be able to play her first game for Reims which finally came on Saturday.
Haitian forward, Daelle Melchie Dumornay opened the scoring for the visitors in the 27th minute and Kessya Bussy doubled Reims’ lead seven minutes later to ensure the travelers gain a comfortable half-time advantage.
After the interval, Kessya Bussy scored two more goals in the 57th and 77th-minute respectively to increase Reims lead to four.
Rofiat was introduced in the 90th minute as she replaced Lea Notel for her debut. Her compatriot, Demehin saw full 90 for Stade de Reims with her second clean sheet as she played her seventh league game.
Stade de Reims ended 2022 in the sixth position on the log with 17 points after 11 games. The team will next face fourth-placed Montpellier when the league resumes on January 14, 2023.
