In a stunning turn of events, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is set to join Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray from Napoli in a blockbuster €75 million transfer.
The deal—now verbally agreed—will be finalized within the next 24 hours as both clubs prepare to exchange official documents.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Galatasaray will pay €40 million upfront, with an additional €35 million due within a year. The agreement also includes a 10% profit clause and performance-related bonuses.
Notably, a clause in the deal prevents Osimhen from being transferred to any Italian club for the next two years, a stipulation reportedly inserted at Napoli’s insistence following internal tensions.
Osimhen’s relationship with Napoli deteriorated last season due to contract disputes and off-pitch disagreements, despite him finishing as the club’s top scorer and a key contributor to their Serie A campaign.
The 26-year-old has previously featured for Wolfsburg, Charleroi, and Lille—where he rose to prominence before joining Napoli in 2020.
Osimhen is no stranger to Galatasaray, having spent time at the club on loan last season. During that spell, he led the team to a league title and finished as the Super Lig’s top scorer—cementing his popularity among the fans and the club’s hierarchy.
His permanent return now signals Galatasaray’s serious ambition in both domestic and European competitions for the coming season.
