Rumour Mills: Inter open contract renewal talks with talent Ebenezer Akinsanmiro

By Oluwadamilola Olaleye

Inter Milan have opened contract renewal negotiations with the representatives of Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, as the Serie A giants look to secure the long-term future of one of their brightest young prospects.

The 19-year-old joined Inter in 2023 and is currently under contract until 2026, but with just one year effectively remaining after the upcoming season, the club is eager to extend his stay.

Talks have reportedly been initiated in recent weeks, according to sources close to the club.

Akinsanmiro spent last season on loan at Sampdoria, where he played a key role in midfield despite the team’s relegation to Serie B.

He made 35 appearances across all competitions, earning praise for his composure, work rate, and tactical intelligence—attributes that have caught the attention of Inter’s technical staff.

Despite Sampdoria’s poor campaign, Akinsanmiro was one of the few bright spots, and his performances have only strengthened Inter’s belief in his long-term potential.

With his stock rising and uncertainty over his future loan options, Inter are determined to tie him down to a new deal and integrate him further into their senior plans.

Club officials reportedly view him as a cornerstone in their ongoing squad rejuvenation project.

Akinsanmiro’s renewal, if finalized, would not only reflect Inter’s commitment to youth development but also reaffirm their strategy of investing in talent with long-term upside.
