Rumour Mills: Kaizer Chiefs eye Etiosa Igodaro as Mamelodi Sundowns exit nears

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly monitoring the situation of Nigerian striker Etiosa Igodaro, who appears set to leave Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.

Igodaro, 23, is nearing the end of his contract with Sundowns, which expires at the end of June.

Having completed three separate loan spells—including a productive stint at AmaZulu last season where he scored six goals in 27 appearances—the forward is expected to depart the reigning champions.

Sources suggest Chiefs are poised to make a move should Sundowns confirm his release.

The club had previously expressed interest in Igodaro during his loan at Chippa United, but Sundowns instead opted to loan him to SuperSport United.

With no signs of a contract renewal on the table, Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be keeping a close watch, hoping to strengthen their attacking options by capitalizing on Igodaro’s availability.

Should a move materialize, Igodaro would become one of the first additions in what is expected to be a summer rebuild for the Soweto giants.
