Rumour Mills: Liverpool enter race for Victor Osimhen amid Napoli exit talks

By Damilola Oyebode

Reigning Premier League champions Liverpool have reportedly joined the race to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, as speculation surrounding his departure from Napoli continues to gather pace.

According to Sky Sports, Liverpool are considering a summer move for the Super Eagles forward, who is coming off another strong season in Serie A.

Manager Arne Slot is said to be eyeing a reliable goal scorer to bolster his attack, despite the presence of Darwin Núñez.

Osimhen has also drawn interest from Premier League rivals Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea, while Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli have tabled a substantial bid. However, no official offers have been submitted yet.

Napoli are reportedly ready to sanction the 25-year-old’s exit as they prepare for a squad rebuild under incoming manager Antonio Conte.

Osimhen, who has a release clause of around €120 million, is expected to command a high fee.

Should Liverpool formalize their interest, the club would offer Osimhen a compelling opportunity to compete for top domestic and European honors, including UEFA Champions League football.

With the transfer window set to open in the coming weeks, Osimhen’s next move is shaping up to be one of the summer’s biggest stories.
