Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen has claimed the 2024/25 Turkish Super Lig Golden Boot, capping off a remarkable season in which he powered Galatasaray to their record-extending 25th league title and the Turkish Super Cup.
On loan from Italian side Napoli, Osimhen scored 26 league goals, finishing five ahead of his closest challenger, Krzysztof Piątek.
His prolific form was instrumental in Galatasaray’s domestic double and has further cemented his reputation as one of Europe’s most lethal forwards.
With this achievement, Osimhen becomes the fourth African player to win the Turkish top scorer award, joining Morocco’s Aatif Chahechouhe (2014), Senegal’s Mbaye Diagne (2019), and Gabon’s Aaron Boupendza (2021).

He is also the first Nigerian player in history to claim the Turkish Super Lig Golden Boot.
This marks the second time Osimhen has won a top scorer accolade in a major European league.
He previously claimed the Serie A Golden Boot in 2023, when his 26 goals led Napoli to their first league title in 33 years.
Despite his success in Turkey, Osimhen’s future remains uncertain. With strong interest from top European clubs and Napoli eager to facilitate a transfer, the 26-year-old is expected to be at the center of a major summer move.
