Napoli have tabled a player-plus-cash offer to Atalanta in a bid to sign Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman, amidst interest from Premier League side Arsenal and Spain’s Atlético Madrid.
According to FIFA-licensed agent Claudio Anelucci, Napoli have proposed a deal involving forwards Giacomo Raspadori and Pasquale Mazzocchi in an effort to reduce Atalanta’s asking price, which is reportedly in excess of €50 million.
“I know of both Raspadori and Mazzocchi being offered to Atalanta to lower Lookman’s price tag, and it would certainly be interesting,” Anelucci said during an interview with 1 Station Radio.
Lookman is understood to be a top target for new Napoli head coach Antonio Conte, who is keen to add the 26-year-old Super Eagles winger to his squad ahead of the new Serie A season.
While Atalanta have yet to respond publicly to the offer, Napoli appear determined to beat out competition from Arsenal and Atlético Madrid in the race for Lookman’s signature.
