English Championship club Hull City are set to complete the signing of Nigerian forward David Akintola on a free transfer, according to Nigeriafootball.ng.
The 29-year-old is expected to arrive in England within the next 48 hours to undergo medicals before being officially unveiled at the MKM Stadium.
He will join the Tigers on a two-year contract following the expiration of his deal with Turkish Süper Lig side Çaykur Rizespor.
Reports from the Evening Standard indicate that Akintola’s move is in its final stages, and he will become the latest addition to a squad that already features fellow Nigerian international Semi Ajayi.
Akintola joined Rizespor in January 2024 from Adana Demirspor and made a notable impact during his 18-month stint, recording three goals and five assists in the 2024/25 campaign.
The deal will provide Hull City with added depth and experience in attack as they prepare for the new Championship season.
