Nigerian-born forward Samu Omorodion has signed a five-year contract with FC Porto, making the move from his former club, Atlético Madrid.
Omorodion’s transition to Chelsea fell through due to medical issues, leading him to join the Portuguese giants instead.
According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, FC Porto will initially control 50 percent of Omorodion’s ownership.
They have the option to acquire the remaining portion over the next two years. Additionally, Porto has set a €100 million release clause for the striker to deter potential suitors before the contract’s expiration.
Omorodion, who is 25 years old, is excited to embark on this new chapter of his career after making a name for himself in La Liga. As he signed his contract, he expressed pride and anticipation for the challenges ahead in the Primeira Liga.
FC Porto’s manager, Sérgio Conceição, welcomed Omorodion enthusiastically, praising his exceptional skill and versatility. The striker was officially unveiled by FC Porto President André Villas-Boas, who notably had a stint as Chelsea’s manager in the past.
