Samuel Chukwueze reveals how he turned down Saudi Arabia move

By Saheed Afolabi

Nigeria international, Samuel Chukwueze has disclosed his rejection of a move to the Saudi Premier League last summer.

Chukwueze ended his five years stay with Villarreal by joining AC Milan last year.

The Super Eagles tricky winger said he would have joined a club in the Saudi Arabia Premier League if he has considered the enormous money involved in the deal.

He stated, despite initial awareness from his agent, he declined the deal to upgrade his career in Europe.

“If money were a problem, I would have signed in Saudi Arabia. They wanted me a year ago,” Chukwueze was quoted by Football Italia.

“My mind was set only for Milan. My agent told me, ‘hey, look, m there’s this money,’ but I said no. I don’t want to go anywhere else.

“So he gave up. If that money comes, it comes. The most important thing now is to believe in myself. I’m still young, I want to make it, I need to stay in Europe.”

Chukwueze first season in Milan wasn’t impressive as he netted a goal in 24 league appearances.
