By Wale Mustapha
Atalanta head coach, Ivan Juric could hand the first Serie A appearance of new season to Nigerian winger, Ademola Lookman, Nigeriafootball.ng reports.
Lookman has been asked to train separately from the rest of the Atalanta squad after returning to the club last month.
The Super Eagles’ forward earlier pushed for a move to fellow Serie A rivals, Inter Milan, and went on AWOL.
Lookman has since returned to full training with the rest of the squad after returning from international duty.
The 27-year-old featured in Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.
Lookman is expected to feature for La Dea against Lecce at Gewiss Stadium as the club are to be without their main striker, Gialunca Scammaca who has been out due to injury.
La Dea are winless after two games this season.
