Serie A: David Okereke’s superb finish put a clog in AC Milan’s top four chase

Nigerian striker, David Okereke came off the bench to register his seventh Serie A goal of the season as he helped Cremonese to record a 1-1 draw against AC Milan on Wednesday.
The encounter was supposed to be  a walk in the park for the Rossoneri as they have recorded victories in the last seven meetings against Cremonese at Guissepe Meazza.
However, It didn’t lived up to expectations for the Red and Black club of Milan at San Siro with flurry of wrong moves characterized their first half outing with only one chance created and not well utilized.
Cremonese who are heading closer to the drop from the Italian top flight grew more into the contest after the restart despite an improved attacking threats posed by Milan.
13 minutes from time, it was the visitors that took the shock lead when Okereke who replaced Bannassi took out two Milan’s defenders before shooting past outrushing keeper Mike Maignan for his seventh league goal of the campaign.
Cremonese were almost running away with the win before Milan, who have been experiencing blip of recent snatch a late equalizer through Junior Messias.
The result however have seen Milan dropped to sixth on the log with 58 points, same as fifth paced Atalanta and seventh placed AS Roma.
Cremonese are still far from safety with 21 points placing them 19th on the table.
