Serie A: Tyronne Ebuehi bags brace of assists as Empoli edge Salernitana

Nigeria defender, Tyronne Ebuehi produced man of the match performance on Monday as he helped Empoli secured a 2-1 Italian Serie A win over Salernitana at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.

The Super Eagles full back assisted both assists for the goals that saw Empoli moved above Salernitana on the Serie A log.

His girst assist came in the 38th minute when Nicolo Cambiaghi headed past Guillermo Ochoa with seven minutes to end the first.

The former FC Twente full back went on to provide the decisive second goal three minutes after the hour mark allowing Francesco Caputo to make a simple tap in.

Krzysztof Piatek halved the deficit for the visitors five minutes from time but it was too little too late to complete the comeback.

Ebuehi has now been involved in five goals for the Azurris with two goals and three assists in 23 Serie A games this season.

The win moved Empoli to 14th on the log, three points and a place above Salernitana.

Meanwhile Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong was an unused substitute for Salernitana in the fixture.
