Sone Aluko Sets Sights on Consecutive Triumphs as Reading Takes on Derby County

Nigerian forward Sone Aluko exudes confidence in Reading’s ability to replicate their recent success against Nottingham Forest as they prepare to face Derby County at Pride Park on Saturday in the English Championship. After enduring consecutive defeats against Sheffield United and Middlesbrough, Reading reclaimed their winning form with a resounding 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest.
Aluko, who found the net for Reading’s third goal in the triumph against Forest, is optimistic about securing back-to-back victories. Despite Reading currently occupying the 20th position with 15 points in the English Championship, and Derby sitting fifth, Aluko believes his team can emerge victorious in the upcoming clash ahead of the international break.
In an interview with readingfc.co.uk, Aluko acknowledged the challenging nature of the game but emphasized the team’s commitment to hard work and earning every point.
“It’s another very hard game – we always talk about how tough every game is, especially this season. We have to work hard for the points… nothing is given to you; you have to earn every one,” stated Aluko.
Reflecting on the recent win against Forest, Aluko described it as a confidence-booster, addressing the frustrations stemming from a series of poor results. He commended the team’s all-around performance, emphasizing the importance of scoring first and building on that advantage.
“It’s hard work, but enjoyable when it comes off. We’d been working on it in the week – we want to try and win the ball higher, play with more energy and intensity, and that builds confidence too when something you’ve worked on comes off and proves to be effective,” Aluko added.
As Reading endeavors to secure another victory, Aluko’s words underscore the team’s determination and strategic approach to the upcoming fixture against Derby County.
