Stanley Amuzie Completes Season-Long Loan Switch to FC Lugano from Sampdoria

In a move that is set to bolster FC Lugano’s defensive lineup, Super Eagles defender Stanley Amuzie has finalized his switch to the Swiss side on a season-long loan from Italy’s Sampdoria. The long-awaited deal was sealed after both clubs reached an agreement on the loan fee, as reported by Completesportsnigeria.com.
FC Lugano, who secured a commendable third-place finish in the Swiss Super League last season, is gearing up for the upcoming UEFA Europa League competition, where they have been drawn into Group G alongside Hapoel Beer Sheva, Victoria Plezen, and FCSB.
Amuzie, who inked a three-year contract with Sampdoria just last year, faced limited opportunities in the first team during the previous season. His absence from the Italian club’s lineup was primarily due to his participation in the Rio 2016 Olympics as a member of the Nigerian U-23 squad.
“Stanley has joined Lugano after all the financial details were resolved,” disclosed his agent, Marshal Mbre, in an exclusive statement to Completesportnigeria.com in Lagos.
Amuzie’s football journey has seen him develop from his early days as a player at the Flying Sports Academy to stints with Portuguese second division outfit Olhanense. He subsequently represented Nigeria’s U-23 team at the prestigious Rio 2016 Olympics, marking an important milestone in his career.
As FC Lugano welcomes the talented Super Eagles defender into their ranks, they are eager to tap into his potential as they prepare for the challenges and opportunities that the forthcoming Europa League campaign holds.
