By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
Stormers FC have officially secured promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL) following a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Real Sapphire in their final playoff fixture.
The Ogun-based club finished their playoff campaign with two wins from three matches, amassing six points and a +1 goal difference—enough to clinch the top spot and seal their place in the NNL.
They finished top of Ibadan centre ahead of Joy Cometh FC which had five points.
Real Sapphire FC and FC Ebedei finished in third and fourth position with four and a point respectively.
Their promotion marks a significant milestone for the team, who will now compete in Nigeria’s second-tier football division in the upcoming season.
The return to second tier league comes after another Ogun state based side, Gateway United FC dropped to the third tier.
