Sunday Adetunji’s brace pushes Shkupi closer to European football spot

Nigerian striker, Sunday Adetunji won man of the match prize as he led Shkupi to a commanding 3-0 win over Makedonija in the North Macedonia league on Wednesday.
The Match week 32 played at the Cair Stadium in Skopje became more comfortable for the hosts than envisaged as they were in control from the get go.
After much defending by Makedonija to ward off threats from Shkupi’s onslaught, they would later cave in and bowed to pressure.
It was the Nigerian striker who open the score sheets in the 37th minutes with a brilliant finish in the area.
Ali Adem doubled the lead for the hosts with just a minute to end the first half putting Shkupi in firm grip of the match.
The second half didn’t produced much talking moments as the capital club looked to have sealed the win.
However, there was time for Adetunji to score his second of the night to make it three for his side.
The former Shooting Stars and Rivers United goal poacher has taken his season’s goal tally to nine in 25 games.
The win however, put Shkupi in firm grip on second spot with 58 points, four above third placed Shkendija who are both jostling for European football next season.
