Super Eagles drop in October FIFA Rankings
By Bethel Kalu
Nigeria’s senior men national team have dropped from 31st to 32nd position on the FIFA ranking in a list released on Thursday by the world football governing body.
The development means Super Eagles are ranked 4th in Africa. They slipped a place down after their 2-1 loss to the 2019 Afcon winners and Desert Foxes of Algeria in Oran in the continent’s high profile friendly.
The Eagles had earlier drawn 2-2 with Algeria’s CHAN team but that was not an official game. Although they lost to the Desert Foxes, this was of no much consequence as they moved just one spot down on the rankings.
African champions, Senegal are still the top ranked team on the continent and are in the top 20 in the world
Here are the top ten teams in Africa
1. Senegal
2. Morocco
3. Tunisia
4. Nigeria
5. Algeria
6. Egypt
7. Cameroon
8. Mali
9. Cote d’Ivoire
10. Burkina Faso
