Super Eagles drop three places in last 2022 FIFA ranking

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have dropped down by three places in the last ranking released by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) for December 2022 on Thursday.
The monthly ranking that was released on Federation’s official website saw the three-time African Cup of Nations winners dropped from 32nd to 35th position in the world.
Despite missing out of the FIFA World Cup, Jose Peseiro’s side still maintained their position among the top five teams in Africa, but slipped from fourth to fifth position.
As expected, Atlas Lions of Morocco moved to top position on the ranking in Africa following their impressive performance at the just concluded 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The Terranga Lions of Senegal dropped to second position on the continent with Tunisia remaining in third position, while the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon jumped to fourth position.
On the global stage, newly crowned FIFA World Cup winners Argentina have moved to second on the ranking with Brazil maintaining top position, while France, Belgium and England completed the top five teams in the world.
