Super Eagles Finish Group C in Style with Win Over Uganda at AFCON 2025

Nigeria wrapped up their Group C campaign at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with an assured 3–1 victory over Uganda, sealing top spot and underlining their attacking depth in Morocco.

The Super Eagles struck first in the 28th minute through Paul Onuachu, who calmly finished from close range after Fisayo Dele-Bashiru burst down the left and squared the ball across goal. The opener set the tone for a dominant Nigerian display.

Uganda’s task became even more difficult in the second half after they were reduced to 10 men, and Nigeria quickly took control. In the 66th minute, Raphael Onyedika doubled the lead, meeting a clever assist from Samuel Chukwueze to make it 2–0.

Moments later, the Club Brugge midfielder struck again. Onyedika completed his brace with a clinical finish following another well-weighted pass from Chukwueze, giving Nigeria a commanding 3–0 advantage.

Uganda managed a late consolation in the 75th minute when Rogers Mato fired home from close range, but it proved little more than a footnote on a night dominated by the Super Eagles.

The result sees Nigeria finish the group stage with maximum points and strong momentum heading into the knockout rounds, while Uganda bow out after a spirited but ultimately overmatched performance.
