Nigeria international Victor Boniface has emphasized the crucial importance of securing a FIFA World Cup ticket for the Super Eagles.
The Bayer Leverkusen forward is set to play a vital role in the Super Eagles’ upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic.
Despite missing out on the Super Eagles’ second-place finish at the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast, Boniface is confident in the team’s hard work and preparation to secure victories against the Bafana Bafana and Squirrels.
Boniface underscored that the determination to win is shared by the entire team, including the technical crew.
“It’s not just about me but the whole team in general. We’re working really hard, ready to give our 100 per cent on Friday against South Africa to ensure victory,” Boniface told Complete Sports.
“It’s important that we win, not just against South Africa, but in the other qualifying games. The World Cup ticket is crucial, and winning games, not just on Friday but in the upcoming matches, is very important.
“These games won’t be easy, starting from Friday. But I believe we have a good squad that can get the job done. Every single one of us is determined and working hard, including the coaching staff. With our fans behind us, I believe the team will deliver.”
The Super Eagles are currently in a must-win situation against South Africa, with only two points from two matches so far.
