Super Falcons camp bubbles with new four players and Waldrum for Japan

The camp of the Super Falcons is gradually coming alive with the arrival of more professional players ahead of the international friendly with the Nadeshiko of Japan on Thursday in Kobe.
According to the team’s official Twitter handle, 12 players are already in camp as at dinner time, including the four players from the Falconets team to the U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.
The new arrivals are Leicester City defender Ashleigh Plumptre, Gotham FC striker Ifeoma Onumonu, Houston Dash winger Michelle Alozie and Paris FC goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie from England, United States and France respectively.
Also joining the camp is head coach Randy Waldrum and his assistant, Lauren Gregg from the United States.
The team has been training with the six home based players – Esther Onyenezide, Flourish Sabastine, who all landed with the Nigeria delegation on Monday.
The early birds among the foreign based professionals were Sporting Braga’s Peace Efih and SL Benfica’s Christy Ucheibe from Portugal to lift the team’s spirit ahead of the Nadeshiko game.
Still expected, are Barcelona star Asisat Oshoala, Sevilla winger Toni Payne, Tigres striker Uchenna Kanu, Rosengard midfielder Halimatu Ayinde, Eskilstuna United midfielder Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene, Glory Ogbonna, Saint Etienne duo of Yewande Balogun, Regina Otu.
The Super Falcons will hope to bounce back from double defeats against the United States against another high-profile side ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup finals in Australia and New Zealand.
