Super Lig: Onuachu brace lifts Trabzonspor in seven-goal thriller against Karagumruk

By Wale Mustapha

Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu continued his fine form in front of goal, netting a brace as Trabzonspor edged Fatih Karagumruk 4-3 in a pulsating Turkish Super Lig encounter on Saturday.

Onuachu struck the Black Sea Storm’s second and third goals to set the tone for the hard-fought victory, which ended the club’s four-game winless run in the league.

The 31-year-old has now scored five goals in seven league appearances this season, further underlining his importance since joining from Southampton in the summer.

The victory lifted Trabzonspor to second place on the Super Lig table with 14 points, though they remain seven behind leaders Galatasaray.
