Super Lig: Paul Onuachu wins August Turkish Goal of the Month Award

By Wale Mustapha

Nigeria international Paul Onuachu has been named the winner of the Turkish Super Lig Goal of the Month award for August.

The Trabzonspor striker earned the accolade for his towering header in the club’s 1-1 draw against Samsunspor — a goal widely praised for its precision and athleticism.

With the recognition, Onuachu becomes the first recipient of the award in the 2025/26 Super Lig season.

The former Southampton forward has hit the ground running since sealing a permanent move to Trabzonspor in the summer.

He continued his fine form with a goal and an assist in the team’s commanding 4-0 win over Kayserispor on Friday.

Now 31, Onuachu currently leads the Super Lig scoring chart with six goals and one assist from eight appearances.
