Taiwo Awoniyi describes injury as worst of his career after successful surgery

Following his successful surgery, Taiwo Awoniyi shared insights into the difficulties he has encountered, describing this season as one of the most challenging in his career.

He conveyed profound gratitude for the overwhelming support he has received, stating, “By the grace of God, I am thankful to still be here, to continue fighting, to maintain my smile, and to remain in good spirits.”

Awoniyi particularly recognized the Nottingham Forest community, expressing his appreciation to his teammates, coaches, and staff for their kind wishes.

He noted that their visit to him in the hospital significantly uplifted his spirits, more than he could articulate.

Additionally, he offered encouragement to his team for their upcoming two matches, affirming his steadfast support and eagerness to return to the pitch.

Awoniyi also expressed his heartfelt thanks to his family, friends, and football supporters, especially those from Nigeria, for their unwavering support, prayers, and thoughtful messages.

He underscored the importance of their encouragement during his recovery, concluding with a message of solidarity.
