Taiwo Awoniyi: Nigerian striker may miss Nottingham Forest trip to Arsenal

Nigeria striker, Taiwo Awoniyi is a major doubt to miss Nottingham Forest’s trip to Arsenal for the Premier League opening day clash at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
The Super Eagles forward suffered ankle injury in one of the club’s tune up games and is a majot doubt to be ready for season’s opener against Gunners haven resumed full training few days ago.
Saturday’s match may have come too soon for club’s Premier League top scorer in last season as he played a vital role for Steve Coopers’s side topflight sta, narrowly avoiding the drop thanks t his 10 goals came in handy for Triky Tree.
While Cooper was answering questions during the prematch conference, he confirmed that both Awoniyi and defender Moussa Niakhate are injury worries for Nottingham Forest.
​The Welsh tactician said: “Felipe, for sure. Moussa is just about returning to training, and so is Taiwo, so the game probably comes too soon for them.”
Contrastingly, the duo of Ola Aina and Emmanuel Dennis are looking increasingly to be in contention to be named in the Matchday squad to face Arsenal.
