Taiwo Oloyede criticizes Victor Osimhen for disrespect towards Finidi George

By Saheed Afolabi

Former Nigeria international, Taiwo Oloyede, has strongly criticized Victor Osimhen for his recent disrespectful remarks towards former national team coach, Finidi George.

Osimhen, the Napoli star, took to social media to launch an unhealthy tirade against Finidi following an unverified report blaming the Eagles’ poor form on him.

Oloyede expressed his displeasure with Osimhen’s conduct and urged him to issue a public apology.

“Like Osimhen talking to Finidi George. He must come out and apologize,” Oloyede was quoted by Complete Sports.

“What has he done in his life that makes him better than Finidi? Is it money? Fame? Has he won the Champions League? Has he won the Nations Cup? Being the highest goal scorer in the qualifiers is not an achievement if it’s not repeated in the tournament proper.”

Oloyede emphasized that Osimhen’s recent accomplishments do not justify his behavior.

“Just because he was the highest goal scorer at his club when they won the Scudetto last season doesn’t give him the right to talk to Finidi like that,” he continued.

“He’s very rude and going public to rant that ‘Ogun’ will kill somebody shows he was not brought up well. He also lacks good advisers to put him on track.”

Finidi George, who has recently been appointed head coach of Rivers United, has moved on from his brief tenure as the Super Eagles coach.

However, the incident has sparked a debate on respect and professionalism within the Nigerian football community.
