Former Nigeria international, Tijani Babangida believes Asisat Oshoala will be instrumental to the Falcons setting top records at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The five time African Footballer of the year founded the back of the net 21 in 28 appearances last season for the Blaugrana despite seating some games out due to injury.
Babangida said Oshoala has proven herself to be a goal poacher when given the chance to score as he backs the former Robo Queens star to hit top form at the World Cup.
“Asisat Oshoala has shown that she’s a fantastic player and good scorer when presented with the chance,” Babangida told Complete Sports.
“Her brilliant display for Barcelona last season is an indication that she is going to the world Cup to shine. In fact, it’s Oshoala’s time to shine and help the Super Falcons achieve their biggest record at the tournament.”
Oshoala will be making her third consecutive appearance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup after debuting in 2015.
The 28 year old forward has always been on target in her two previous world cup appearance and will be hoping to continue her goal scoring exploits in Australia and New Zealand.
