Time and Where to Watch France vs Nigeria Friendly

By Monsurah Olatunji

The Nigeria Women’s National Team, the Super Falcons, under the guidance of coach Justin Madugu, will face France in an international friendly on Saturday, November 30, 2024.

This match marks an important test for the Falcons as they prepare for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco next summer.

The friendly comes after a successful two-match series against Algeria in Nigeria, where the Super Falcons triumphed 2-0 and 4-1 in Ikenne-Remo and Lagos, respectively.

For France, the match is part of their preparations for the upcoming UEFA Women’s Nations League in the spring and the 2025 UEFA Women’s Euro Championship in Switzerland.

The French squad, having hosted the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, is eager to continue their momentum as they aim to fine-tune their squad for major international competitions.

Historically, France has had the upper hand in this fixture, having beaten Nigeria in all three of their previous meetings, including a heavy 8-0 defeat in April 2018 at Stade Marie-Marvingt in Le Mans.

This remains the Super Falcons’ largest defeat, matched only by their 1995 FIFA Women’s World Cup loss to Norway and a 2010 friendly loss to Germany.

However, the Falcons have had closer encounters in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, narrowly losing by a single goal to France in both the 2011 and 2019 editions.

The friendly will kick off at 9:30 p.m. Nigerian time on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Stade Raymond Kopa in Angers, France.

The Super Falcons’ arrival in France began on Wednesday morning, as reported by NFF media, with the team gearing up for what promises to be an exciting encounter as they look to secure their first-ever victory over France.
