Tobi Adeyemo: Watford loan Nigeria prospect to Hitchin Town

By Olu Dare

Nigeria prospect Tobi Adeyemo has been loaned to English side Hitchin Town from Watford FC.

Following his inability to get regular playing with the Hornets, the Anglo-Nigerian was loaned to the Canaries to get regular playing time.

The 17-year-old will remain there until Christmas Day on work experience.

“Watford FC Academy forward Tobi Adeyemo has joined Hitchin Town on loan,” a statement from the Hornets website read.

“The 17-year-old, who has featured for Omer Riza’s Under-21 side on a number of occasions this term, signs for the Southern League Premier Division Central side until December 25 on work experience.

“Notably, Adeyemo scored against Chelsea during a closely fought contest in the FA Youth Cup last campaign. Good luck, Tobi!”

Meanwhile, Watford have been drawn against Reading at the Select Car Leasing Stadium in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The fixture is set to take place across the weekend of Friday January 6 to Monday January 9 2023.

Nigeria internationals Maduka Okoye, William Troost-Ekong and Samuel Kalu would be hoping to help the Vicarage Road giants secure promotion to the English Premier League next season.
