Toni Payne bags assist as Sevilla pick first win against UDG Tenerife

After a disappointing 5-1 loss to Madrid CFF the last time in the Spanish Liga F, Nigerian forward, Toni Payne helped her team, Sevilla to a 5-1 win over UDG Tenerife to pick their first win of the campaign for the 2023/2024 season.
Uruguayan midfielder, Pamela Gonzalez scored the first goal of the encounter for Sevilla in the 10th minute at the Estadio Jesus Navas, Sevilla.
Nine minutes later, UDG Tenerife were reduced to ten players after a straight red card was issued to the Argentine defender, Agustina Barroso.
The numerical advantage counted for much as two goals from Cristina Martin-Prieto Gutierrez and Ana Franco gave the host a 3-0 lead before the halftime break.
An own goal from Gonzalez reduced the deficit for ten players Tenerife in the 57th minute.
Martin-Prieto Gutierrez scored her second goal of the game in the 80th minute to restore the host’s three-goal lead.
Six minutes later, Payne assisted Gili Giner Gemma to make it 5-1 to Sevilla.
The Super Falcons forward played full 90 minutes for her team after her first assist of the season.
She opened her goal account during the 5-1 loss to Madrid CFF last weekend.
Her compatriot and UDG Tenerife’s Gift Monday replaced Beatriz Beltran Sanz in the 20th minute and saw 46 minutes of play before Yerliane Moreno came in for the former FC Robo Queens captain in the 66th minute.
Esther Okoronkwo saw 46 minutes of action before she was replaced by Andrea Marrero.
Nigeria eligible forward, Rinsola Babajide was replaced by Claire Falknor in the 63rd minute.
Sevilla FC with the win moved above UDG Tenerife to the 10th position while the latter dropped to the 12th spot despite both teams having three points.
