Tosan Blankson fears no foes for Delta Queens in Women’s Champions League draw

Ahead of Thursday’s draw for the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League Zonal Qualifiers, Delta Queens coach Tosan Blankson says his team fears no foes.
The journey to next year’s CAF Women’s Champions League Cote d’Ivoire 2023 Qualifiers will begin in Rabat on Thursday when CAF conducts the draws for the competition.
Delta Queens won the 2022/2023 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership with an unbeaten streak after 12 regular season games and three Super Six matches which Blankson hopes to continue at the continental club competition.
“We are seriously expecting the draw. Until the draw comes, we don’t know what to do so that we can get one or two tapes of our opponents which will be better for us,” Blankson told Brila FM.
“If you want to be a champion, you start beating the champions from the beginning.
Whatever that comes from the draw is expected.”
The CAF Women’s Champions League – now on its third edition – will be held in Cote d’Ivoire 2023.
The CAF Women’s Champions League is the first women’s club continental competition on African soil.
Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens represented Nigeria at the first two editions of the tournament, a feat Blankson’s side will hope to replicate this year.
