Transfers: Chigozie Awaziem completes switch to French side Nantes

Nigeria international, Chigozie Awaziem has completed a switch to French Ligue 1 side, Nantes.

The Super Eagles defender joined Nantes on a four-year deal following his inability to cement a regular starting shirt at Boavista.

Nantes escaped relegation last season by a whisker and have decided to strengthen areas where quality is lacking.

Awaziem started his professional career in Europe with Porto, he saw appearances hard to come by and he was loaned to Nantes in 2017.

On August 2019, he joined CD Leganese in the Spanish league. Awaziem failed to adapt to life in Spain as he moved back to Boavista.

After a nomadic career movements which saw him on the books of Turkish side, Alanyaspor and HNK Hajduk Split, the 26 year old has finally teamed up with Nantes in a speculated four million euros move.
