Two Bundesliga clubs to wrestle Everton, Southampton for red-hot Chuba Akpom

Nigeria-eligible striker, Chuba Akpom is attracting genuine interests from German Bundesliga clubs ahead of new summer transfer window.

Akpom has been on a breathtaking form this season for Middlesbrough and is currently the English Championship side leading top scorer with 21 goals in 28 games.

Top sources from Germany have revealed that both Werder Bremen and Borussia Mönchengladbach are keeping tabs on the performances of the former Arsenal striker with a view to launching a bid for his services in the summer.

The Bundesliga sides are however facing stiffer competitors to secure Akpom’s signatures as couple of Premier League sides including Southampton, Everton are also looking in the direction of adding him to their ranks in the summer.

The 27-year-old Akpom who is yet to make his first appearance with Nigeria’s national team has had his contract with Middlesbrough extended till 2024

The experienced striker is not unfamiliar with playing in Europe as he was successful in his previous two stints with Greek side, PAOK and Belgium top side, Sint-Truidense scoring over 30 goals in both occasions.
