Two Nigerian referees get WAFU-B nod for Women’s Champions League Qualifiers

Two Nigeria referees will be in action when the 2025 West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) Women’s Champions League Qualifiers get underway in Cote D’Ivoire this month.

On Sunday,.WAFU-B revealed the list of referees who will officiate at the Women’s Champions League qualifying tournament for the West Zone B – Ivory Coast 2025, taking place from August 23 to September 5, 2025.

Nigeria’s Alaba Olufunmilayo will serve as centre referee at the tournament.

Her compatriot, Agbons Faith will officiate as an Assistant Referee at the competition.

Sixteen (16) referees have been selected to officiate the tournament, including 8 center referees and 8 assistant referees.

This list also includes referees from the West Africa Zone A (WAFU-A) and CECAFA (Eastern Africa) zones.

Seven teams from WAFU-B will compete for the sole ticket to qualify for the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League.

Holders, Edo Queens will not compete as Bayelsa Queens emerged as Nigerian champions and are set to fly the country’s flag in Cote D’Ivoire.
