U-23 AFCONQ: Guinea coach Cisse expresses disappointment with draw in Nigeria

Head coach of Guinea U-23 side, Morlaye Cisse has expressed his disappointment after his team’s goalless draw with Nigeria on Wednesday in the first leg of U-23 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers.
The Young Syli Stars missed a number of scoring chances in the encounter at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, and will return home with a valuable point that the coach thinks should have resulted in a win.
Both teams will clash in the reverse fixture next week Tuesday in Rabat, Morocco and despite forcing the only African Olympic medalists to a draw in front of their fans, the gaffer rues his side’s inability to claim the full points.
“I am disappointed that we failed to finish the game from Nigeria. My players did well and my little problem is that we failed to score in today’s game,” Cisse told reporters after the game.
The overall winners of the contest will qualify for the 2023 U-23 AFCON to be staged in Morocco.
