U17 AFCON: Nigeria land in Algeirs for must-win Burkina Faso’s quarterfinal clash

The Nigeria’s U-17 men’s national team players and officials have settled down in Algiers ahead of their clash with Burkina Faso in the last 8 of the ongoing U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Nigeria is set to battle Burkina Faso in the last eight fixture at the Nelson Mandela Stadium on Thursday night as they look to secure a spot at the FIFA U17 World Cup.
The Golden Eaglets played all their group matches in Constantine where they won two matches and lost one to finish second with six points from three games in Group B, just a point behind leaders Morocco.
As Group B runners-up, they will face group C runners-up, Burkina Faso who garnered three points from two games.
Nduka Ugbade’s side will train this evening in preparation for fight for the semi-final and world cup ticket.
In a video release, The NFF revealed the Golden Eaglets arrival in Alger’s in high spirit ahead of the quarterfinal duel.
“The Golden Eaglets have arrived Algiers for their crunch quarter-final match against Burkina Faso on Thursday. They played all their group games in Constantine and will now look for good tidings in Algiers,” the NFF wrote.
