U20 Afcon 2023: Foreign-based players to join Flying Eagles camp in January
By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
Foreign-based players will join already training home-based players at Flying Eagles camp in January 2023 in preparation for next year’s U-20 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Nigerian U-20 side opened camp last week in Abuja ahead of preparation for the 2023 AFCON.
Coach Ladan Bosso invited 40 players to the camp at the beginning of the exercise and recently dropped some players due to injuries and international passport issues.
The coach according to Daily Post has penned down some foreign-based players who are expected to join the home-based players early next year.
The team will resume camp on January 4, 2023, after embarking on Christmas and New Year break from December 22, 2022.
The West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) Champions thrashed Kickers Academy 8-0 on Saturday in a friendly match.
The victory was Bosso side’s sixth straight win ahead of its next set of friendly games.
They will face Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) sides, Niger Tornadoes, Wikki Tourists, and Nasarawa United in friendlies next week.
