U20 Afcon: Flying Eagles still work in progress – Ladan Bosso

By Saheed Afolabi
Nigeria U20 head coach Ladan Bosso says the team is still a work in progress after defeating Zambia 4-2 in a friendly game played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Friday.
The international friendly proved to be a real test game for the Flying Eagles in build up to Egypt 2023 and the former U20 Afcon winning gaffer is pleased with the victory, stressing that his lads delivered a good performance.
“We cover up where our weaknesses were coming from, and where their weaknesses are coming from we exploit it. And that’s why, when we change the two wingers they gave us the goals,” Bosso told media.
“As a coach, you don’t build just with one person. Anybody can start and anybody can finish. All I knew was the wing play came in the second half. If the two goals were avoided, I think we would have won by at least 4:0.
“This is the same team we are taking to the tournament, but we are still a work in progress. we work on our lapses so we see how we can do the best for the team.”
The Wafu B U20 champions will head to Morocco on Wednesday for their final training camp before heading to Egypt to face the real business of the U20 AFCON.
The seven times U20 AFCON champions will be making their 18th appearance at the U20 AFCON.
The Flying Eagles won the U20 AFCON for the first time in 1983 and tasted glory last in 2015.
