U23 AFCON Qualifier: Guinea to land in Abuja for first leg clash with Nigeria

The Guinean U23 men’s national team is scheduled to land in Nigeria ahead of their crucial U23 AFCON Qualifier tie against the Nigeria U23 team on Sunday, March 19, according to BSN Sports.
Head coach of the Junior Syli National, Morlaye Cisse has called up 22 players for the clash with the Olympic Eagles and they are expected to arrive the nation’s capital, Abuja on Sunday evening.
After having a tremendous training camp in Conakry, the Guinea U23 team are battle ready for the clash with the Olympic Eagles, with the first leg slated for Wednesday 22nd of March at the MKO Abiola Stadium.
The Guineans are yet to kick a ball in the qualifying series following the withdrawal of their opponents Uganda in the earlier stage, while the Olympic Eagles defeated Tanzania 3-1 on aggregate to advance to the final round of qualifier.
The winner between the two sides after the second leg in Guinea on March 26 will book a place in the U23 AFCON.
Morocco has been penciled down to host the U23 AFCON later this year and Nigeria last won the tournament in 2015 in Senegal.
