UCL: FC Porto plays down severity of Zaidu Sanusi’s injury in win at Shakhtar Donestk

FC Porto coach, Sergio Conceicao says the injury sustained may not be serious as earier envisaged for Nigerian defender, Zaidu Sanusi in their 2-1 UEFA Champions League win at Shakhtar Donestk.
The Super Eagles’ left back sustained a knock before the end of opening half and was replaced by Wendell at halt time during the match in Ukraine on Tuesday night.
Porto held on to win the encounter against the Ukrainians by 3-1 giving them a bright start to the continental campaign.
Conceicao who was speaking on the club’s overall assessments and injury updates said Sanusi was replaced on precautionary basis but will still be assessed to ascertain the severity of the injury.
“João Mário left due to tiredness. Zaidu may have a muscle problem and we thought he shouldn’t be in the second half, but when we arrive in Porto he will be re-evaluated,” the gaffer was quoted by the club’s official website.
