Former Nigeria Super Eagles head coach, Sunday Oliseh, has praised Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for their tactical brilliance in overcoming Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League knockout stage on Tuesday.
PSG stunned the Premier League giants by securing a 1-0 victory in the second leg, which cancelled out their first-leg deficit. Ousmane Dembélé’s 12th-minute goal gave the Parisians the lead.
The match ultimately went to penalties after PSG’s 1-0 win, and they triumphed 4-1 in the shootout, with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma playing a crucial role by saving spot kicks from Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones.
Oliseh, who won the Champions League with Borussia Dortmund as a player, expressed his admiration for PSG’s performance.
He noted that the French side was clearly the superior team and deservedly progressed to the quarterfinals.
“Damn, this Paris Saint-Germain squad is extremely talented. I just love the way they actively steal balls from the opposition and play in triangles,” Oliseh wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
“Had a blast watching them as they eliminated Liverpool on penalties, 1-4. Bravo, coach Luis Enrique!”
PSG will now face either Aston Villa or Club Brugge in the upcoming quarter-final.
