Atalanta head coach Ivan Juric has suggested that Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman could be in line for a starting role in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League Group Stage match against Club Brugge.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of the Matchday Two clash at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, Juric revealed he is considering the Super Eagles forward as part of his starting XI.
“Ademola has been training with us for a while and I’m starting to think about it,” Juric said.
“The same goes for Ederson. They’re two important players we need to bring back into the rotation.”
Lookman was recently reintegrated into the squad following transfer speculation during the summer window, which saw him reportedly pushing for a move away from the Serie A club.
The 26-year-old has made just one appearance for Atalanta so far this season and was an unused substitute in their 1–1 draw against Juventus last weekend.
Atalanta will be aiming to build momentum in Group D as they host the Belgian champions, with qualification to the knockout rounds firmly in sight.
