UCL: Super-sub Zaidu Zanusi inspires FC Porto victory over Bayer Leverkusen

Nigeria international left back, Zaidu Sanusi came off the bench to help resurgent FC Porto overcame Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 in the dramatic UEFA Champions League encounter on Tuesday.
The tasty group stage contest staged at the Eatadio da Dragao was an entertaining one as the Germans could have taken the lead inside the opening 16 minutes but Calumn Hodson Odoi’s goal was chalked for a foul in the build up.
Both sides could produced any scoring opportunities until the stroke of the hour when Otavio was brought in for the host and tested Leverkusen keeper with a half volley.
Coach Sergio Conceicao beckoned on Super Eagles’s Zaidu Zanusi in the 63rd minute as he replaced Brazilian star Wendell and it didn’t take more than six minutes for the Super Eagles left back to justify  his introduction as he reached on time to finished up fine delivery from Iranian forward Mehdi Taremi.
That was the tonic Porto needed as they took full control of the game pressing Leverkusen too deep to their half.
The pressure would then paid for the hosts as Taremi was the provider yet again, this time, Brazilian Galeno was on hand to make it two and registered his first UCL goal.
The win has however pushed Porto to second in Group B by the virtue of goal difference.
