Nigeria’s Samuel Chukwueze made a late appearance off the bench for AC Milan, but it wasn’t enough to help the Italian side overturn a first-leg deficit as Feyenoord advanced to the UEFA Champions League round of 16.
Feyenoord had taken a 1-0 lead in the first leg, and despite AC Milan’s best efforts in the second leg at the San Siro, they could only manage a 1-1 draw. With the aggregate score at 2-1 in Feyenoord’s favor, the Dutch side advanced to the next round.
Things took a further turn for the worse for AC Milan when left-back Theo Hernandez was shown a red card, leaving the team to play with 10 men for the remainder of the match.
Chukwueze, introduced in the second half, brought some much-needed energy to AC Milan’s attack, but it ultimately wasn’t enough to break down Feyenoord’s defense.
As a result, Feyenoord progresses to the quarterfinals, while AC Milan’s European journey comes to an unfortunate end.
