UWCL: Asisat Oshoala bags brace as Barcelona ease past Rosengard

FC Barcelona forward, Asisat Oshoala celebrated her top goal scorer prize with two goals for her team in the final group game of the 2022/2023 UEFA Women’s Champions League on Wednesday.
The Spanish side defeated FC Rosengard of Sweden 6-0 to end the group stage of this season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League on a high note.
The 2020/2021 Champions League winners started the game on the front foot with chances to take the lead in the first eight minutes of play.
The dominance paid off in the tenth minute when Oshoala tapped into an empty net to open the scoring for the Catalan side after Aitana Bonmati’s effort struck the post.
Oshoala was in the right place at the right time to poke home the opener and six minutes later the Super Falcons forward headed in Mariona Caldentey’s cross to double her side’s lead.
Mapi Leon converted Barcelona’s third goal in the additional minutes of the first half to make the contest a one-way traffic.
After the interval, Fridolina Rolfo, Marta Torrejon, and Irene Paredes scored three more goals to give the host a 6-0 bashing over the Swedish Allsvenskan side.
Oshoala saw 81 minutes of action before she was replaced by 16-year-old Victoria Lopez after scoring her third and fourth goal in the UEFA Women’s Champions League this season.
FC Barcelona topped Group D with 15 points, the same points as Bayern Munich, and qualified for the quarter-final.
