UWCL list Oshoala amongst top goal scorers for club and country in 2023

Nigeria forward, Asisat Oshoala is amongst 11 players listed by the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) as top goal scorers for club and country in 2023.

According to UWCL, the former Arsenal forward scored a combined 28 goals for Barcelona and Nigeria in 2023.

The Super Falcons star ranks above the likes of Alex Popp (26 goals), Romee Leuchter (26 goals), Marjolen Nekesa (26 goals), and Alba Redondo (27 goals).

Oshoala is ranked seventh on the list with two other African players, seeing her behind Zambia’s Rachael Kundananji (34 goals) and Kenya’s Marjolen Nekesa.

Australia and Chelsea star, Sam Kerr tops the list with 37 goals, three goals ahead of Kundananji.

Rachel Daly (31 goals), Tessa Wullaert (31 goals), Kika Nazareth (30 goals), and Khadija Shaw (29 goals) complete the list.

Goals scored for club and country in all competitions as far as 2023 was concerned were put into consideration.

Oshoala is in her sixth season with FC Barcelona and wrapped up 2023 with her sixth CAF Women’s Player of the Year award.
